I took many a picture this snowy weekend, but Firefox crashed as I was uploading them. I don't have the patience to do it again right now, so here's one of Stanley. While he kills it in the snow and ice, I think he was just happy to stretch his legs a bit in 4WD. Labels: design
"The things that once so defined him — shag carpeting, Room & Board sofas, monogamy — now suffocated him."
-from the "Unhappy Hipsters" blog
Getting beyond the irony that Unhappy Hipsters is most likely the creation of an actual hipster, it is definitely witty and fun. I'll readily admit that this site was tipped-off to me through the wonderful 2 or 3 Things I Know blog. Labels: design
Here's a 60's to early 70's compilation of rock and folk with psychedelic tinges. All of the tracks have an underlying tie to animals (the creatures, not the band). As per usual, there are some ubiquitous selections intermixed with obscure, and sometimes odd tunes. I hope this isn't selling some of these short, but a few of the songs are so bad (not really) that they're good. As always... enjoy!:
Just in case... the cover and title are an homage to the exploito-psychedelic bands and compilations from the sixties. Facetiousness is hard to communicate in print.
Porsche 356 via the often linked Loudpop Voyager. Those black-walled, white lettered Goodyears on black steel wheels just kill it... really makes that red pop. Put one in the mail for me, porfa.
Just released via her twitter, and it has already spread across the web. She manages to kill it time and time again. Great tune. Labels: music
Maybe as a form of self-punishment, but for some reason I decided to check a few of the Southern California spots that I (and tons of others) surfed regularly. While NC's waters may be far less crowded than L.A.'s, you do need waves to actually surf.
Have fun out there. I miss you.
These aren't gallery shots, just those that resonate with me for some reason:
